What Are 2 Layer PCB’s

Rigid PCBs

2 layer printed circuit boards are a printed circuit board that has copper on each side in addition to the top and bottom of the board. An insulating layer can be found in the middle. Both sides of the PCB are usually soldered which makes layout so much easier. This is why 2 layer PCBs are commonly used.

A correct circuit connection needs to be made on both sides so that the PCB can be used. Known as “Vias”, the bridges between the circuits are comprised of small holes that are located on the board. The vias are typically coated with or filled with mental. This ensures that they can be connected with any of the circuits on both sides.

As there is twice as much room on a 2 layer PCB as there is on a single-sided PCB, an interlaced layout can be used. In other words, the layout can be connected to the opposite side through the holes. In addition to this, 2 layer circuit boards can be used for circuits that are a lot more complicated.
